Essential Oils – Peppermint and Lavender

Essential Oils and Healing

I came across Young Living Essential Oils in an extraordinary way many years ago and have been using and recommending them ever since. They are one of nature’s great tools for health that have been used for thousands of years.

The reason I have kept using Young Living is because I have seen the oils work time and time again and because I know this particular company guarantees the highest possible therapeutic value for its oils. You need to be careful where you buy your oils from as not all oils are therapeutic grade and some may cause more harm than good. Cheaper oils can come from a hybrid, have solvents used to pump up the volume, or be laden with harmful chemicals due to a cheap distilling process.

If you are going to be using essential oils for their therapeutic value than my recommendation is Young Living. I am sure there are many wonderful companies out there who sell good quality oils but I have had many years of tried and tested results with this particular company and I like to only recommend what I have used myself.

3 Essential Oils You should always have in your cupboard

I have many favourite Young Living oils but will share with you three today.

Peppermint Essential Oil is first on my list.

As it is said to be an anit-parasitic, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumoral, anti-viral, anti-fungal, and helps relieve pain, just to name some of its qualities, I am sure you would have to agree with me it is one of those little miracles in a bottle. I use it every day and so does my daughter.

The uses that Young Living recommend Peppermint Oil for range from Rheumatism/arthritis and respiratory, to obesity, viral and fungal infections, digestive issues, headaches, nausea, skin problems and the list goes on.

“A vast body of anecdotal evidence (testimonials) suggest that those who use essential oils are less likely to contract infectious diseases. Moreover, oil users who do contract an infectious illness tend to recover faster than those using antibiotics.” Yesterday’s Wisdom, Tomorrow’s Destiny – Essential Oil Desk Reference

Lavender Essential Oil is another great wonder worker

If anyone burns themselves I find YL Lavender Essential oil applied neat to the burn takes away the pain and helps in the healing process. I don’t know how many bottles of Lavender I have given away to people who have burnt themselves … but then isn’t that what it’s all about.

The Young Livings Essential Oil Desk Reference states that Lavender Oil is anti-septic, anti-fungal, analgesic, anti-tumoral, anti-convulsant, relaxant, and anti-inflammator,y once again just to name a few. The uses recommended by Young Living range from high blood pressure to skin conditions (ie acne, scaring, burns), to hair loss, insomnia and nervous tension. Just the fragrance alone is said to calm, relax and balance a person both physically and emotionally.

Another Favourite Essential Oil

Another favourite is an Essential Oil Blend called Purification. If you start to feel the beginning stages of a sore throat then I find a drop of purification oil on the ear lobes can often stop it in its tracks. It is said to help cleanse and disinfect the air, neutralise mildew and other odours and is good for cuts and bites.

I hope this has given you a small insight into the wonderful world of essential oils. For more information or to buy products from Young Living then click on the link below.

“I had a very bad headache one evening and just happened to be giving Peppermint Oil to a friend when I remembered it was meant to be good for headaches so I put a drop on my temples and then went on doing what I was doing. About 10 minutes later I realised I did not have a headache anymore and wondered why it had gone so quickly… then I remembered the Peppermint oil … I could not believe such a severe headache could go so quickly but it did.” LZ

“Our modern world has only begun the discovery of the power of God’s healing oils – something that the ancient world knew well.” Yesterday’s Wisdom, Tomorrow’s Destiny – Essential Oil Desk Reference

Fortunately I read this and will act on it with these two oils and let you know about results. Very exciting to hear such information and think my grandmother used lavender for many ailments in the past.
