Reversing Diabetes

Reversing Diabetes  by restricting wheat intake might be the way to go.  Have you noticed many American’s getting larger and larger especially around the middle?  Wheat is a major cause of accumulated fat in the abdomen (visceral fat) also known as a “Wheat Belly”.  The fat that deposits in this area is known to create a greater risk of arthritis, diabetes, heart disease and cancer.  The challenge of reversing diabetes, which can be a bit daunting.

Two thirds of Americans are overweight according to the USDA.  Yes,  bad habits of sitting for hours watching TV, eating fast foods and junk food doesn’t help it seems,.  But there are many other people who watch what they eat and follow nutritional guidelines, and  don’t eat junk foods,  and exercise  regularly but continue to gain weight.    Why?  The USDA food pyramid shows that we should be eating 6 to 11 servings of grains a day of which 4 or more should be whole grains.

Wheat is an appetite stimulant.  It creates an insatiable desire to eat more, with ups and downs of euphoria and withdrawal.  This is a big challenge to the health plans then, though many are unaware of the facts about wheat.  A wheat inclusive diet makes reversing Diabetes quite a challenge. The euphoria satisfaction of wheat can be a  further difficulty because it is a common food saught in depressions and stress periods too.

“Reversing Diabetes”

. . . The Diet Key

A study was done by Dr. Westman of Duke University on 84 obese diabetics (  Quoted from “Wheat Belly”).   The participants were put on a low-carbohydrate diet consisting of no wheat, corn-starch, sugars potatoes, rice or fruit,  It was a diet restriction of 20 grams of carbohydrates a day.  Six months later, visceral fat (abdomen area) was reduced over 5 inches; weight dropped 24 lbs., and triglycerides dropped by 70mg/dl, as well as HbA1c from 8.8 to 7.3%.  Diabetes medication was reduced in 95 precent of participants and 25 precent eliminated all medications including insulin.  Nutrition, i.e., reduction of carbohydrates was the key in  the apparent lowering  of blood sugars,  with the possibility of reversing diabetes.

Wheat BagIf you suffer from diabetes or are overweight and you want to reduce your blood sugar, the fastest way to get results is to eliminate wheat.  Test after test conducted with diabetic patients has shown that reversing diabetes may be accomplished by simply by removing wheat from their diet.  People suffering from acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome rashes arthritis pain, asthma sufferers  apparently improved by and large by simply not eating wheat.

When people eliminate wheat from their diet their moods  may improve, they can  possibly concentrate better, with relief from mental fog and fatigue, blood sugars  can be helped to return to normal.   You may go through withdrawals not eating wheat within the first few weeks but perseverance is the key to results and you may  find a much happier and healthy you with a myriad of symptoms having vanished. Looks like Reversing Diabetes might be do-able!

Tip for my family: Aloe Vera has a low carbohydrate rating.
