Behavioural optometrist Kevin Rooney  alerts about this problem &said……

  • Parents are being warned about the risks of handing iPads and iPhones & digital toys to babies & children  with experts fearing it will not only affect their development, but also their eyesight.
  • Toy makers have wasted no time in cashing in on the trend of kids playing with gadgets, offering protective covers designed for children as young as six months.
  • Experts said while technology has its place, it doesn’t belong in the hands of babies.
  • “It’s limiting their ability to develop in the normal way,” Child psychologist Rita Princi said.
  • “Babies and young children learn through their senses, so they feel things, like touch things, they taste things.”
  • She also fears it will create a generation of tiny techno-addicts who can’t put down their gadgets.
  • Optometrists are also warning against kids using small-screened devices, saying a 12-month old should spend no more than a couple of minutes in front of a small screen at any one time.
  • “Intense close work is one of the factors that contributes to the increase in myopia in young people these days,” behavioural optometrist Kevin Rooney said.
  • Many deficient parenting habits are developing where children are given these tools as babysitting ports to give parents freedom from their responsibility of good parenting and communications skills.

In her highly informative book, Zapped, Ann Louise Gittleman states”
“Children are always the most vulnerable victims of environmental pollution … EMF (electro-magnetic fields) studies have shown that their thinner skulls and bones allow them to absorb twice the amount of radiation as a grown-up. EMFs can more deeply penetrate their brain tissue, which is more conductive than an adult’s because it contains a higher concentration of fluid and ions. One study found that a cell phone call lasting only two minutes causes brain hyperactivity that persists for an hour in children.”

This is serious and we all need to be attentive to protect our children from the harm these devices are causing. Thankyou for sharing this and I will be passing this info on.

there are many other alternatives for little ones to play with. We should use these first and save their health.
